Active Brake Rectifiers Simplify DC Brake Connections
Murrelektronik’s Active Brake Rectifiers make connecting DC brakes easier by combining the contactor and rectifier modules. Prior to this innovative development, brake components were installed separately in the control cabinet and on the terminal board of the motor. Active Brake Rectifiers allow them to be included in one compact component, enabling DC brakes to be controlled directly from the control cabinet.
Murrelektronik’s brake rectifiers receive signals from the PLC via a 24 V DC control input. A semiconductor switch then controls the rectified output voltage of the brake. With approved main voltages from 230 to 480 V AC, the products are suitable for a variety of applications.
The Active Brake Rectifiers also include an integrated semiconductor switch to eliminate maintenance needs. Additionally, the products have UL approval for worldwide use.
