Arcos Industries, LLC now offers two high nickel bare wires, which are manufactured for specific welding applications. Arcos 651 (ERNi-CI) is a commercially pure nickel wire designed for making easily machined welds by automatic or semi-automatic methods. This electrode is intended for welding ductile, malleable and grey cast iron using gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc and submerged arc welding processes. Arcos 651 handles dissimilar welding applications which include the welding of cast irons to low alloy and carbon steels. Developed to provide good corrosion resistance, particularly in alkalis, Arcos 861 (ERNi-1) is utilized for welding wrought and cast forms of commercially pure nickel ASTM B160, B161, B162 and B163). This wire is well suited for dissimilar welding including the joining of Nickel 200 and 201 to stainless. Arcos 861 can also be used for joining carbon steels to copper-nickel alloys.
