Nidec Copal is developing a new 22mm brushless DC motor with an integral driver. The model LB22 Nidec Copal brushless DC motor-drive provides 3.26 oz-in with an input current of 1.4 amps at 12 vdc. No load speed is 6200 rpm for this 0.866 inch OD by 3.02 inch axial length. The Nidec-Copal RoHS compliant brushless DC motor has separate power leads for the driver circuit and the motor allowing variable input to the motor for speed control. Additionally an additional lead provides output from the hall sensor of a square wave signal at four pulses per revolution. The LB22 can be used miniature commercial and medical pumps and robotic systems. The motor’s stall torque will reach 12.6 oz-in at a stall current of 5.4 amps.
