GLV18 Series photoelectric sensors with Clear Object Detection are now available. Clear object detection models use reflectors to detect transparent objects up to 2.5 m away, or opaque objects up to 5 m away. These sensors can detect transparent objects to a contrast as low as 18%, including objects as transparent as glass or a clear film. They carry the CE mark, and are UL/cUL Listed.
Pepperl+Fuchs introduces EVM58 Ethernet IP Encoders. Available in single or multi-turn configurations, these rotary encoders provide highly accurate absolute machine position or velocity feedback to the system controller via an industry-standard Ethernet/IP interface.
Pepperl+Fuchs has expanded its family of Miniature 3 mm and 4 mm diameter Inductive Proximity Sensors. These inductive sensors are available with a smooth or threaded barrel and deliver a sensing range up to 1.0 mm.
Pepperl+Fuchs introduces DK50-UV Luminescence Sensors. The DK50-UV series provide a simple and reliable means of error checking, sorting, measuring, and positioning materials that blend into a background or are invisible. They detect marks such as inks, pigments, dyes, coatings, and adhesives, even on irregular backgrounds.

Material Handling: Sensing Challenges & Solutions
|
| In today’s material handling market, OEMs are faced with a number of concerns when choosing a sensor manufacturer and specifying sensors. What makes one sensor manufacturer more attractive than another? What sensor features are the most important to me? How do I protect my company from specifying a sensor that will be obsolete in the next 12 months bringing my production to it knees? What are the current trends in the sensor market? With the growing trend to reduce inventory, how can I limit the number of unique models my machine needs? What electrical standards and optical features are important? |
