(Physik Instrumente) L.P. introduces the new N-216 NEXLINE high-load piezo linear motors. These ultra-precision nanopositioning actuators provide travel ranges to 20 mm and push / pull forces to 600 N (130 lb). The operating principle is based on coordinated motion of a number of highly preloaded linear and shear piezo elements acting on a ceramic runner.
Auburn, MA, Feb 2009 -- Nanopositioning & Piezo Technology Specialist PI, has issued the 2009 hard-cover catalog entitled "Piezo Nano Positioning Inspirations 2009".
The new actuator is based on the Piezo Walk principle and replaces classical lead screw actuators combining high forces and long travel ranges with sub-nanometer resolution in a small package.

Advances in Piezoelectric Multilayer Actuator Technology

| Co-fired piezoelectric multilayer actuators have found an increasing interest in the last years. Especially, influenced by the development of the piezoelectric driven fuel injection technology new products have been commercialized. The known actuators are based on the well known interdigital design. We have focused our work on the development of an actuator design with buried electrodes (cofired encapsulatoin). Results of the investigations of the actuator properties and of some life time tests will be presented. |
